A Bizarre Run race guide
Last updated
The main mode: a horse race across the frontier in two stages, with a train break in between. Stage 1 is pure riding. Stage 2 adds full PvP.
How race works
- Register at the Ticket Booth before the countdown ends. You get a certificate and saddlecloth, and you can't change horse or rider after that.
- Press N at a free numbered horse on the start line. Its number becomes your rider number. Sandman and The Sun race on foot instead.
- Stage 1: canyons, rock corridors, a collapsing wooden bridge, desert rocks and a steep meadow downhill to the GOAL arch. You can't shoot other riders, but you can shoot TNT on the map to clear or block paths.
- Your horse has stamina. At 0% it gets exhausted and slows down. Riding right behind another rider gives a slipstream boost that doesn't use stamina.
- Between stages you ride a train. The Run Shop there (press E) sells a Shotgun for $500, Shotgun Ammo x6 for $20, a Lasso for $75 and revolver ammo for $12. You can only carry one firearm.
- Stage 2 has full PvP. A damage fog closes in behind you and checkpoints have time limits. Before you go, you pick an Easy, Medium or Hard bounty, worth about $175, $350 or up to $600 and 25, 50 or 80 points.
- At a later barrier a Deaths Needed counter has to be met before the route opens.
- You earn Cash and Spin Tickets even if you don't win, plus a grade from S down to F.
Tips to win
- Don't hold sprint through turns. Save stamina for the open stretches, where most passing happens.
- Sit in another rider's slipstream to gain speed for free, then pass near the end of a straight.
- Grass and tree clusters slow you down, and hitting a trunk stops you dead. If you get stuck, press N to get off and back on straight away.
- Aim to finish Stage 1 in under two minutes if you want to fight for first place.
- Pick the Easy bounty if your goal is just to finish Stage 2.
- If you're knocked off in Stage 2: summon your Stand (B), block (F), then call your horse (T).
